“The world renowned Melbourne International Flower and Garden show will be entering its 27th year in 2023 and is regarded as the largest and most successful horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere. There are many highlights! The Royal Exhibition Building turns into the Great Hall of Flowers during the event and becomes a glorious and vibrant exhibition from Victoria’s leading florists and floral designers. On Growers Avenue there are exhibits from the best of our floriculture industry and at the Retail Flower Market people can buy blooms direct from the Growers. I hope you can join Lin and I on this wonderful 3 day tour”…Alan Moss.
DAY 1 (LD) HEADING TO MELBOURNE:
Tuesday 28 March 2023
After we have loaded the coach and completed our passenger pick up service we are ready to go. Sit back and enjoy the service and facilities aboard our Naracoorte Charters Touring Coach as we head towards Melbourne. Our lunch stop today is at Woodlands Historic Park near Sunbury. Woodlands Homestead is a unique and treasured heritage building that now houses an extensive art collection, historic artefacts and horse racing memorabilia. Living Legends is and has been home to some of Australia’s finest retired champion racehorses including Melbourne Cup winners, Doriemus (1995), Might & Power (1997), Rogan Josh (1999), Brew (2000) and Efficient (2007). Our accommodation is nearby. The Mercure Caroline Springs has large modern rooms with walk in showers, individual balconies and plenty of entertainment areas. This will be our base for the next 2 nights. (Meal inclusions: Lunch at Woodlands/Welcome Dinner)
Accommodation: Mercure Melbourne Caroline Springs

DAY 2 (BD) MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER SHOW: Wednesday 29 March 2023
We are heading across the Westgate Bridge to Werribee this morning to visit the Werribee Park Mansion and the Victorian State Rose Gardens. On arrival we take a walk through the gardens which feature thousands of plants in the shape of a giant Tudor Rose. We also take a self-guided tour of this very majestic house, considered an Australian version of the English country house and garden and a symbol of Australia's pastoral elite in the colonial era. A delightful Devonshire Tea will follow before our drive back to Naracoorte to complete a sensational 3 day tour. (Meal inclusions: Breakfast in the hotel/Devonshire Tea in Werribee)
DAY 3 (B) HEADING HOME: Thursday 30 March 2023
This morning we have an appointment at Cockington Green. This award winning attraction takes its name from the township of Cockington in Devon, an historic English Village, and is a one 12th scale reproduction of buildings and gardens in this English village - thatched cottages, a tiny church, the village green, an oats house in Kent, a riverside inn, castles and even Stonehenge. Lunch today is on Lake Burley Griffin. With Southern Cross Cruises we will enjoy a 1 hour sightseeing cruise. We have allocated the rest of the day to a visit to Tulip Top Gardens. The 10 acre garden of magnificent tulips and other spring flowers creates a spectacular display. Hundreds of blossom trees nestle between the flowers and provide a magic pathway to the cascading waterfall and watercourse with classical music wafting through the air in the hidden valley. Take the popular pathway past the rosemary field framed by unique blossom trees to a 70 metre high viewing platform for the perfect photo. (Meal inclusions: Breakfast & dinner in the hotel/Light lunch at the Tulip Gardens)
